His work has been released by labels including Trente Oiseaux, Mandorla, Experimedia, Electronic Musik, Impulsive Habitat, Idiosyncratics and Test Tube. Pangea has collaborated with some of the most prestigious avant-garde artists of the world, examples being Brazilian classical composer Leo Alves Vieira working with string quartets, the Japanese author Kenji Siratori who has voiced his compositions and Igor Jovanovic. His release with David Velez release was considered the best album of 2007 by the journal Earlabs. His music has been included in art installations in the Circulo de Bellas Artes de Madrid, the Cultural Center of Spain in Buenos Aires, Festival fuga lab, Cinetone and the Abstracta cinema festival of Rome. Mold and Moisture, the fourth release by Tardiss on No-Source Netlabel is a trip back in time. These nine tracks make up a collection of early works recorded between 2002 and 2004. What we see here is the beginnings of a sound that Tardiss has gone on to shape into their definitive style. It is a decidedly more electronic and experimental album than the previous Tardiss records. There are still those nostalgia tendencies that peak from time to time. The album kicks off with "The Sandbox". Samples of waves wash into IDM beats and sparse melodies. "Mid Lake Left", recalls the track title Left Side Drive by Boards of Canada. Mid Lake Left was recorded a year or two before the Boards of Canada track and delivers more of an early Squarepusher vibe. "Harmonic Mist Figure" is a beautiful two minutes of haunting, beat-less ambient music. "Smoothie's Loop", though a bit more spastic, uses some modern Tardiss compositional techniques. "Pnuemonia, I Own Ya" has a more of a lounge vibe, recalling Irresistible Force (one of Mix Master Morris' aliases). The album closes with "Come Get It", a twelve minute electronic, lounge rock freakout. This description makes sense when you get to the epic synth solo at six minutes in. Over the years, these early works have held up. The lo-fi attitude just makes them feel even more like a musty photograph collecting mold and moisture.

Daniel Hopkins aka Landcrash is a Filmmaker & Sound Artist based in Staffordshire, UK. Originally from the Southwest of England. Hopkins started his career as a filmmaker graduating from Newport Film School in 1998. During his time as a student he started to experiment with sound during his student films. This led to use of computer to compose and lead to Hopkins moving into sound editing as a career choice. Hopkins performs music under the name of Hurra caine Landcrash, what can be seen as an odd name for one to choose but one that has stuck. I composed this EP a few months ago in the leisure of my mother's condo. The tracks demonstrate a level of drone-style, but are fairly varied with their mood and setting anywhere from uplifting bell-scapes to dark wind tunnels and even simulated trips within the human body! These 4 tracks were very much an experiment for me as well, seeing just how diverse the origins of my samples were. For example, several tracks contain trace amounts of my own voice or sounds off of my keyboard. But others I used were as simple as me hitting a desk with my hand or dropping an empty bottle, and later adding modulations. As such, the current track titles I put up are my best depiction of each soundscape, but all listeners will get their own feel. That being said, please relax and enjoy my work as Slumber Lamp EP relaxes the mind and body with tender loving care!

PiXtar is back with his fourth album. That’s right. Describing sound in multimedia era is kinda tedios and absolutely useless work. But we need to write something about it, don’t we? Our regular followers could notice that PiXtar’s tracks have a complicated multilayered structure with many little details all over the room and on the other hand there are pretty rhytmic commonly acceptable grooves. This album has rather ‘mainstream’ than ‘underground’ flavour. The sound is cool and solid as usual, less IDM more electro and breakbeat with a slight reminiscence of retro electronica. After all since the myth about always young and always progressive electronic music had busted we are sentenced to retro. This album description is over. It’s time to listen to the MUSIC.
